About Us

meRfi® - Medical Research Finder GmbH (“meRfi®”), founded in 2024 by Professor Dr. Hans Lentzen and Florian Merz, is a German company. We provide technical information in the form of web-based compendia from the field of life sciences by offering evidence-based knowledge in the form of keyword-associated texts ("specialist information offers"), in which a comprehensive search function is integrated. The content is provided via a web-based portal and can be accessed interactively. With the help of artificial intelligence, valid information can be extracted from the texts and sources. In addition, users have access to the literature referenced. Our first technical information offer, "meRfi® - Gut Microbiota (meRfi®-GM)", is our web-based compendium on the intestinal microbiota. Our offer is primarily aimed at scientists working in this field or specialist audiences interested in the topic, as well as the scientific departments of companies that develop or sell products to influence the intestinal microbiota.

Hans Lentzen

is a pharmacist and pharmacologist with over 30 years of experience in both academic and industrial settings, specializing in pharmaceutical research and development.

He studied pharmacy at the Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz and received his Ph.D. at the Institute of Pharmacology at the Julius Maximilians University in Würzburg (Germany). After completing his doctorate, he then carried out postdoctoral research in the Department of Pharmacology at Philipps University in Marburg. After moving to Berlin, he stayed for eight years at the Institute of Pharmacology at the Free University of Berlin (Germany), where he habilitated in pharmacology and toxicology.

From there, he transitioned from academic research to leadership positions in the pharmaceutical industry. At MADAUS AG, he rose from Head of Experimental Research to Head of Research and Development, leading programs in the fields of hepatology, immunology, inflammation research, and oncology.

He later co-founded VISCUM AG, where he guided immuno-oncology candidates through Phase I and Phase II trials, and founded LENTZEN GmbH, which offers strategic consulting from preclinical to clinical development. Today, he is co-managing director of MELEMA Pharma GmbH and founder and CEO of meRfi® – Medical Research Finder GmbH, an innovative platform for the dissemination of evidence-based specialist information in the field of life sciences.
