Interleukin-23 (IL-23) is an inflammatory cytokine that is key for the maintenance and expansion of CD4+ Th17 cells. It is a heterodimeric cytokine composed of an Interleukin-12 subunit beta (IL-12 p40) and an Interleukin 23 (IL-23) subunit alfa.
