Currently, we acknowledge that the immune system acts (at least) in three different ways to prevent cancer:

• it protects against viral infection and therefore suppresses virus-induced cancer;


• it supervises the inflammatory response in order to limit the establishment of an inflammatory environment promoting Carcinogenesis / Oncogenesis / Tumorigenesis, and


• it eliminates cells in some tissues.
