IL-12p70 is the biologically active form of Interleukin-12 (IL-12). It is a heterodimeric cytokine made up of two subunits, p35 and p40. It is essential for inducing and regulating cell-mediated immunity. This cytokine is mainly produced by activated antigen-presenting cells, including dendritic cells, macrophages, and B cells, in response to microbial stimuli or inflammatory signals.
