L-Arginine / Arginine & Immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs)

The availability of L-arginine in tumors is a crucial factor for an effective anti-tumor T cell response. Typically, tumors have low concentrations of L-arginine, which can limit the effectiveness of immune checkpoint inhibitors, such as programmed death-ligand 1 (PD-L1)-blocking antibodies. Increasing L-arginine levels within tumors could significantly enhance these anti-tumor responses.
