Krüppel-like factor 4 (KLF4)

Krüppel-like factor 4 (KLF4) critically controls cell proliferation and often induces cell cycle arrest at both the G1/S and G2/M checkpoints. It can act as a barrier against uncontrolled cell division and is essential for epithelial differentiation, particularly in tissues such as the skin, the intestine, and various other epithelial linings. Krüppel-like factor 4 is responsible for controlling the shape and orientation of intestinal epithelial cells.
