Another mechanism for gene expression and the regulation of signaling proteins in malignant cells lies in the activity of histone deacetylases (HDACs). They are associated with the silencing of tumor suppressor genes, as well as with other functions that promote the malignant cell phenotype, including the function of the chaperone protein Heat shock protein 90 (HSP90). Malignant cells overexpress some Histone Deacetylases (HDACs).
