Six healthy volunteers consumed 250 ml of yogurt with Bifidobacterium longum BB536 every day for two weeks. Researchers looked at how this affected their gut bacteria, substances in their feces, enzyme activities, and other fecal properties, comparing these results to those from regular yogurt. They found that the yogurt with B. longum BB536 significantly increased the amount of Bifidobacterium in the gut. The number of Lactobacillus also went up significantly.
