Lgr5+ crypt-base columnar (CBC) cells are a specific population of stem cells found in the intestinal epithelium that play a crucial role in maintaining intestinal homeostasis and regeneration.

Lgr5+ CBC cells are located at the base of intestinal crypts, interspersed between Paneth cells. They have a slender, columnar shape and are in direct contact with the basement membrane. These cells are actively cycling and divide approximately once per day.
