Lung cancer is among the deadliest human malignancies. More than half of all lung cancers are lung adenocarcinomas (LUAD), a subset of non-small cell lung cancers (NSCLCs) likely derived from alveolar type 2 cells. Smoking is the single greatest risk factor for Non-Small-Cell Lung Cancer (NSCLC) (adenocarcinoma). However, Non-Small-Cell Lung Cancer (NSCLC) (adenocarcinoma) is also the most common form of lung cancer seen in never-smokers.
