Bte1 is a Type VI Secretion System (T6SS)-dependent (contact-dependent) effector, widely found in human gut microbiome genomes and metagenomes, particularly in bacteria like Bacteroides.

Bte1 has no discernible motives. Domains are missing. Homologs are also absent. This makes structure predictions difficult. The metagenomic signature is clear.
